Artist Statement:

All the places I have painted have since been bulldozed and transformed into car dealerships and condos.  It is with great sadness that I think of the PA landscape.  My paintings are of places that no longer exist.  When I was a child my parents wanted me to be a ditch-digger; but I defied them.  To their surprise I became a landscape painter. Painting is the scariest thing I can do without hurting myself.  Bill Maldon was my favorite artist as a child.  He cartooned for Stars and Stripes Magazine and I wanted to also.  I don’t think anything’s funny anymore; now I like slinging color.
