It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our friend and longtime Hardcastle Gallery artist William “Bill” Dawson .

Bill was a talented artist with a knack for detail and storytelling through his original watercolors and oils.  He had the ability to transport you back in time to the days of horse and carriage in New Castle complete with cobblestone streets, flower carts in Annapolis , and the Kalmar Nyckel at sea.

Bill was truly a genuine person with an easy going smile and story to share whenever we had gallery business to discuss.  Over the last few years the paint brushes didn’t call out as much; he wanted to spend more time with his grandchildren and his hot rods.

Bill will be missed by everyone in the artistic community and remembered as a gentleman, a painter and a good friend.
