Show Statement on Thoughts & Themes

Just as everyday life takes my focus in many different directions, my acrylic paintings are an expression of that same interest in varied subjects and a desire to depict them in a representational manner that still reflects the world as I see it- bold, colorful and beautiful.

I am drawn to images with strong light, deep shadows and brilliant color which add a deeper level of beauty to the already picturesque scenes I encounter but also bring beauty and worth to the more simple and mundane.

For me, my art is very much about loving the process of painting and seeing a piece come to completion. My paintings are not flamboyant, mysterious, trendy or shocking but simply a naturalistic depiction of life that I hope many viewers will be able to connect with and enjoy.
