Native to Pennsylvania , Sandy Askey-Adams was born in a small rural town , which fostered her love of nature.  From an early age, drawing and painting the woods, streams, mountains, lakes and floral were a natural and essential form of
self-expression.  The interpretation of nature and its moods continue to be the focus of her work today.  Embracing a poetically sensitive and gentle style, she strives to communicate a greater sense of love and peace to her viewers with each new work.

Primarily a self-taught artist, Sandy received much encouragement from her mentors and teachers in her early years. Although experienced in all art mediums, favorites are watercolours, oils and pastels.  Particularly passionate about pastels, she loves the dramatic contrasts, the rich layers of colors and the vibrant visual luminescence that can be achieved with pastels.

Accomplishments are many and varied including the illustration of the book titled "Nature Buffs Story,” the illustration of the cover for Tri-county nterfaith leaflet (since 1984), and illustrations for the ghost tours of Lambertville , NJ (Illustrations were on special exhibit in the Lambertville House , NJ ) As the exclusive, official artist for Hammersmith Farm in Newport , Rhode Island (which was owned by Jacqueline Kennedy's mother and was the Summer White House during the term of John F.
