In both vessels and wall pieces, I like to design a quiet rhythmic energy often associated with the feeling of landscape.  Subtle changes within color and textures aid the viewer in seeing something new each time. 

John Baker received his M.F.A. from the University of the Delaware, studied at the University of the Arts and earned a B.A. from West Chester University of Delaware.  He has been a professor at West Chester University since 1974, and is currently Chairperson of the Department of Art.  His work has been exhibited in numerous national and regional exhibitions, and is represented in private, corporate and museum collections.  Selected collections include:  The University Museum, Indian University of Pennsylvania, Delaware Art Museum, Sumitomo Electric USA Inc, New York and California, AT & T and MBNA America.
