Ms. Mowry is a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America, and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art.  She is a Distinguished Pastelist in the Pastel Society of the West Coast.  She is listed in Who's Who in American Art.  Before retiring in 2002, she was an instructor at the Woodstock School of Art in Woodstock, New York on whose Board of Advisors she continues to serve.  She is frequently invited to jury national and international pastel exhibitions.

Within the past ten years, Elizabeth has been the recipient of more than thirty major landscape awards in national and international exhibitions in this country and abroad.  In 2002, Elizabeth was the recipient of the Prix d'Art du Pastel en France as as the Prix du conseil General de la Seine Maritime.  Her pastels were also exhibited in Italy and in Russia.  She was invited by the Pastel Society of France to be the American guest of honor during their exhibition in April/May 2003 where she met and painted at Giverny with other artists from around the world.

Elizabeth is the author of Landscape Meditations, The Pastelist's Year and The Poetic Landscape by Watson-Guptill Publications, and is currently beginning working on another book.  Her work appears in sixteen other books and numerous national magazines. She lives and works in upstate New York.
