Sarah Yeoman’s creative memories reach back to childhood. Born in
Lawrenceville
,
NJ
, Sarah dwelled in the woods and fields surrounding her home and in the
Adirondack
wilderness. In her teens her creative spirit found refuge in music and the visual arts beginning a life long journey. She continued this exploration at
Kutztown
University
,
Ithaca
College
and
Penland
Craft
School
, where her studies included metalsmithing and sculpture, music and painting.
After moving to
Wilmington
twenty-five years ago she settled into painting. She began oil painting with Ruth Anne Crawford, learning to see the color and form in the world and translating this vision with paint. Year’s later after taking a watercolor class with Wendy Schierer, Sarah knew this is the medium she could speak with. “Painting for me is the search for spirit and the attempt to create a place for it to dwell.” Watercolor is her voice and vision, the subtle light in a still life or the dance of color in the landscape each invites us to share this together.
Sarah lives with her family in the beautiful rolling hills of
Ashland
,
Delaware
where she paints and teaches.
