Poetry in Motion, is what Diver would describe as what sport “is.” This new exhibit is not only inspired by sport but also by “broadsides” which are literature and illustration combined. Diver’s new work is a combination of graphics, painting, poetry and computer technology.
Professional horse race jockey, Chip Miller will represent spring, professional horse racing rider, Jody Petty will represent fall, and John Light, will be the summer motorcycle road racer subject.
The winter athlete, retired ice hockey player, and recently inducted into the hall of fame, Dave Schultz, is the featured athlete of the Poetry in Motion show. With 227,000 views on youtube for his linebrawl with Dave ”Tiger” Williams, and 17 videos of Schultz fights viewed by over a half a million people, Schultz is obviously still looked upon for inspiration 35 years later.
All the athletes in the show will be signing the artwork as well.
