Hardcastle Gallery Future Exhibitions

Kennett Square artist, J. Wayne Bystrom, has been invited to Hardcastle Gallery for the month of October for his first one-man show in over a decade. Wayne is a very prolific artist who loves the landscape and the area that surrounds him, painting big suits this very talented and the subjects he chooses. Quiet reflections in a farm pond, radiant skies bursting with color or the sun peeking through the trees warming freshly fallen snow are all familiar to collectors of Wayne ’s originals and limited edition prints. Please join us in welcoming Wayne Bystrom to the gallery for what is sure to be a dynamic display of the region.

November 7 - 29 - Sarah Yeoman & the Mt. Cuba Invitational

Opening Reception : Friday, Nov.7^th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm

Sarah Yeoman is on the rise, after a successful exhibition here with a hand-selected group in May 2007; her original watercolors are in demand. Showing primarily in two areas, here at Hardcastle Gallery and the Adirondacks each summer, her work is getting hard to come by. Lush washes of color play across the surface of her paper creating fresh images of gardens, flowers, tree lines and open fields. Sarah has the opportunity to live in a dream environment for any artist, with over 18 acres of private gardens at her fingertips as well as the wonderful resources of that this area offers. Mt. Cuba a well known private garden for many years has opened it doors to invited artists and groups to begin painting their rich foliage through sponsored workshops. Taking a lead from the very successful “Artist of Ashland Hollow” exhibition here last spring, we thought to focus on a new garden. Sarah is inviting a few chosen artists to exhibit their visions of Mt. Cuba with her at Hardcastle Gallery this November to warm up our walls and head off any early winter chills. Join us for what will be another remarkable collection.

Happy Holidays from Hardcastle Gallery!! Featured this month in the gallery alongside our “gift-giving” show is W. James McGlynn. A Wilmington legend known for his watercolors and warm personality, Jim is preparing a collection of new work including images from his summer trek to Maine as well as his favorite spots around the area. He has been dabbling in acrylics as well as his traditional watercolors in his signature style. Join us for a festive opening and month of good cheer for your holiday art needs!!
